From the Desk of Tim Halpine

Tuesday, May 26th

Dear Members,

I hope you all had an enjoyable Memorial Day Weekend and you stayed as dry as possible.  It was nice to see at least a little bit of activity in the pool, although it certainly looked a bit odd with only 10 people!  We are excited to have the loosened restrictions starting on June 1st.  The detailed plan will be laid out below under the swimming pool information.

Dining Update
Beginning on June 1st we will be expanding our menu!  We are excited to be able to offer some additional offerings and bring back our weekly specials. I want to thank all of you that supported our curbside pick-up over the last 40 days.  I am very proud of our team for how they continued to adapt to the changing rules, food shortages from suppliers and continuing to reinvent the wheel.  I look forward to continually getting back to a bit more normalcy every week.  We will still be taking major precautions by keeping bar service closed.  Please continue to use the pass through window until further notice.  Thank you for your understanding!

Golf Operations
Sand bottles and coolers returned to the golf carts last week.  Players are now encouraged to ride together. We will continue with our no-show policy going forward. A $20 no show fee will be charged to the account of the tee time holder.  It is your responsibility to know what tee-time you make and fill them or cancel them accordingly.  Common courtesy for the rest of the membership is very important right now.

Practice Facilities
Ahren and his staff have done a remarkable job of keeping the practice facility in great shape!  Please remember that when using the range long linear lines with a couple inch spacing will allow that facility to grow back quickly and will allow for longer use throughout the year!  As we begin to get into Jr. Golf academies and practices, instruction will take precedent over the facility.  We will never shut down the entire range but will be utilizing different areas for our Jr. Programs.  Signs will be placed where Jr’s have the priority.

Swimming Pool
With the relaxation of the 25% capacity rule for the pool starting June 1 we will continue to keep our lottery program running.  The lottery will be drawn on Fridays for the following week and emailed and posted to the website.  Please make sure that you are utilizing the space if your name is drawn.  If you cannot utilize your slot please email pool@playersclubomaha.com as soon as possible.  Until the regulations are released we will not be allowing guests at the pool.  I certainly apologize for any inconvenience but we must take care of the membership at this point.

Fitness Facility
The limit of 4 people at a time maximum allowed in the facility will continue until further notice.  Let’s all do our part to make sure we follow that 1 simple rule so we can keep the fitness facility open.  The machines will be cleaned by our staff every 3 hours.  In between that time please make sure to use the provided cleaning solution to sanitize your equipment.

Thank you for your continued support of your club and please reach out to me with any questions or concerns.

Dear Members,

We are now a couple weeks into having some of the restrictions loosened around the club.  Dining is beginning to become a little bit more regular and it has been great to see the pub full of social distancing activity!  I would like to remind everyone of two simple things to make sure the club stays in compliance with the Governors requirements.  If you could please make sure that all chairs stay where they are at all times that would be very helpful. The tables and chairs have all been set to make sure the required distance is appropriate.   Second, if you are going to be on the patio or at the pub at any time you absolutely must be ordering food. We are operating under restaurant guidelines and must adhere to all of the rules.

Dining Update
We generally have our updated expanded menu available by the first week of May.  As you have noticed this year has been a little slower to role that out.  As we become more familiar with what rules and regulations will be changing I am hopeful we can begin to expand that menu around the 1st of June.  Trying to pivot back and forth from Curbside Pick Up only to inside dining and then walking both lines has proved very difficult.  I am very proud of our team for rising to the challenge.  Thank you for your support as well, we will continue operating Curbside Pick Up for the foreseeable future so pay attention to those Monday emails to stay informed of what’s coming up!

Golf Operations
Sand bottles and coolers will return to the golf carts starting today.  They will be sanitized after each use.  Scorecards are back on but pencils will remain off the carts.  Please throw one in your bag as that is a fairly important touch point that proves difficult to sanitize.  As you all know, tee times across America have become difficult to come by, after all, we are pretty much the only form of recreation available.  Please make sure that you are cancelling any tee time that you will not be able to utilize.  Going forward a $20 no show fee will be charged to the account of the tee time holder.  It is your responsibility to know what tee-time you make and fill them or cancel them accordingly.  Common courtesy for the rest of the membership is very important right now.

Practice Facilities
The range and practice facility is open for normal use as of last Wednesday – thank you for taking good care of the facility thus far.  Remember that when using the range long linear lines with a couple inch spacing will allow that facility to grow back quickly and will allow for longer use throughout the year!  When pitching or chipping around the short game center, divots really shouldn’t be needed for that distance of a shot.  If you find yourself taking large divots while pitching or chipping – reach out to Judd for a lesson, I promise it will help your score!

Swimming Pool
A detailed plan for the pool opening will be coming out later this afternoon.  We are excited to open the pool this weekend but will need to follow quite a few restrictions early on.

As the changes continue to be made and restrictions loosen we will keep you informed as quickly as possible!  We were hopeful that we would be in a much different situation by Memorial Day weekend but we are not.  So, we will continue to do the best we can do and try and make sure every experience you have here is the absolute best that we can provide.   As always – I am open to any ideas or thoughts you have on any of our policies or procedures.  Please email or call me with any questions.

Thank you for your continued support of your club!

Hello Members!

Well, one week into opening the clubhouse back up and being able to see people has been great!  We continue to update our policies and procedures and are continuing to make multiple plans of action as more information arrives.  There are a few important date changes that we have made in order to make sure that every experience you have here is the best that we can offer!  The first is the date change of our Member/Member Tournament.  We are moving that date to August 20th-22nd.  That will move the Club Championship into September.  For those of you that were drawn for the initial Member-Member you will hold your place in the field.  We will be reaching out to each team individually to verify that the new date works and accommodations will be made for those who can no longer play.  We will also be moving the start of both Men’s and Ladies League to July 7th and 8th respectively.  We plan on running both leagues through the month of September.  With the uncertainty of when restrictions will loosen we have made the decision to give you a solid start date as opposed to keeping people waiting.  We are also adding a Men’s stag, Senior Stag and Ladies Stagette over the next month or so to allow you some normalcy back in your life!  Those events will have to be tee time based to help us with social distancing.

As of today – May 10th the pool is slated to be inspected on this coming Friday.  We are hopeful that some of the restrictions will be loosened and we will be able to accommodate swimmers at that time.  As of right now all Junior Golf Academies will be able to proceed as planned!  The Nebraska PGA and NJGT are still working through some logistics regarding Team Golf.  We are hopeful that swim lessons will be on as scheduled.  For those of you that signed up for any Jr. Activity we will reach out to you as soon as we have a definitive answer on logistics of those events.

We are looking to begin having dual riders on carts beginning on May 18th.  If you feel uncomfortable at all you will be allowed to still use your own cart.  At that time we will begin adding sand bottles and coolers on to the golf carts.  Those will be sanitized after each use.

It was great seeing you all out at the club and finally inside the building – I would ask one favor of you all, please do not move any chairs around on the patio or inside the clubhouse.  All of the tables have been set so that we are abiding by all of the current rules and regulations.

Thank you again for your continued support of the club and your understanding!
